Parent University Session – Word Problems

April 19, 2018 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Word Problems:  This session will focus on specific types of word problems students will encounter at each grade level. Particpants will learn how tape diagrams can help students to solve word problems with ease. Leave this session being able to use a tape diagram to solve a problem like a professional.

Facilitated by Josh Lee; Math Specialist and Jenn Golias; Teacher on Special Assignment for Professional Development.

Does your child’s math homework look like a foreign language? Do you often wonder why your child is learning math in a different way than you did? Are you interested in learning the math strategies your child is learning at school so you can help your child at home? If you answered yes to any of these questions, please join us for our Parent University series. You may choose to attend all the sessions in the series or pick individual sessions. Childcare will be provided by Niagara-Wheatfield High School Students and refreshments will be provided. All sessions will last from 6 to 7:30 pm.
