Updates from Principal Nora O’Bryan

This is Nora’s 17th Year as Principal.  School is off to a great start! Be on the look out for clubs and activity info to come home. Lego Club, Spanish Club, Possible Intermural and Math Clubs to come in the future!

Volunteers Upcoming Fundraisers/Events from now thru the holiday season.

Mum Sale
started this week, orders due tomorrow. Delivery 9/26
Volunteers: needed throughout the day to help delivery.
9:15 – 5:30 – pick-up from 245 – 530. But might be earlier.

Spirit Wear Sale
Starts 9/27 and ends 10/7.
Forms will be out soon. Should be more variety of items. T-shirts, Hoodies, Zip ups
School will have spirit days – wear Errick road colors or spirit wear.
Local family producing the screen printing
Possible Spring order? Items tend to run small so order up

Picture Day
9/28. Retakes in November. If you don’t like the pictures just show up on retake day with printed photos.
Order forms already were sent home, or you can order online through lifetouch.

Superhero Fun Run
Sponsorship form is out. Due Wednesday Sept. 21st.
Track in wood gym, Blue gym will have activities. Event is indoors on 10/7.
Every child will receive a prize – regardless of donations. All prizes will be in bag so that all kids receive something. Bags handed out at the end of day.
Volunteers: needed throughout the day. Dress up opportunities – Running in Costumes.

Winter Wonderland Holiday Catalog
Sell Wrapping paper, baking goods, other miscellaneous items.
October 3. Orders due October 17
Delivery on December 1st (Same day as Poinsettia and Wreaths.)
Volunteer Opportunities for sorting and organizing.

Fall Fest
10/14 and kicks off the Scholastic Bookfair.
Shop with child at the bookfair. Dance Party, Photo Station.
Volunteers: pizza/water sale, trunk or treat, dance party. inside gym and in the library for bookfair.

Scholastic Bookfair 10/17-19 (M-W)
Kids will shop during class
We need volunteers to help children choose books. We will send home class times to better help.
Volunteers: Choose their slots. Help kids to shop.

Halloween Parade
Back in school! 10/31 9:45am-10:45am. Parents welcome! Seating in gym – Kids walk through. 945-10:45.

Poinsettia/Wreath Sale
Starts 11/7, orders due 11/14.
Delivery will be Dec 1 along with Winter Wonderland Catalog orders.
Volunteers: needed throughout the day for sorting and pickup.

Picture re-take day
11/17

Merry Moose Shop is back!
Kids will shop from 12/5-12/7.
Set up will be 12/1. Evening Times. Volunteers for checkout and shopping.
Volunteers: We will send out class times to help you choose which day.

Virtual holiday social with The Grinch
12/16 6pm-7:30pm. We’ll send home craft/treat bags and the zoom details.
Volunteers: needed to assemble the bags. Can be done at home whenever available.

Alternatively forms will come home closer to each event or you can sign up at the next PTO meeting! Please note, these events are only possible through the efforts of our parent volunteers!

PBIS

When child is doing something great in school, they receive falcon cash. Kids visit the school store 2 times a month. Spend cash on items (pencils, erasers, notebooks) or experiences such as being a teacher helpers, dance parties, fun room, read a book to a class, extra gym time.

Accepting donations (used/new) Extra party favors and stuff send in to PBIS. Can be sent in any time.

Teacher Appreciation

Looking to set up once a month tables for Teachers (Will need volunteers to help set up)

Treasurer Report – PTO Budget Update

Summary

  • The PTO funds Fieldtrips, Staff Appreciations, School Store (PBIS), Falcon Cash and much more

Funding Requests

  • 300 PBIS – School Store Funding (2000 total)
  • Welcome Signs and Back to School
  • Kindergartner’s Books / Welcome 325
  • Memberships coming in – $5/Year ($215 in venmo so far)
  • Zoom account – $15 / Month
  • Back to School Teacher Table – Sharpies & Smarties, Canvas bags, shirts

Secretary Report

  • Thank you, notes / Letters to PTO
    • Thank you note for back to school table – from teachers

Lunch Program

  • Fill out reduced lunch forms. May qualify for reduced pricing instead of full pricing
  • Everyone should fill it out regardless of income.
  • If 40% or more qualify for free or reduced – the entire school will qualify for free lunch.
  • Letter that explains why this is important will be coming home soon.

Spanish Club

15 kids – (9 People signed up)
330 – 430 (Mondays) 6 Sessions
K-5 (all grades) welcome.
Will be held in a classroom. C152
