DESCRIPTION:As the holidays approach\, it is once again time for our Holiday Star Project to begin. This year\, we have several families in our school community with many sincere needs. They would appreciate your generosity in bringing their children some holiday joy. We are asking for your help in purchasing gifts for the children 18 and under in these households. Beginning mid-November\, the front foyer will be filling up with colored stars. All of the stars will contain a letter representing the family on the top to protect their privacy\, the gender and age of the recipient and a specific gift written on it. In addition\, each star color will represent a price range: \nRed: Under $10\nYellow: $10-$15\nGreen: $16-$24\nBlue: $25-$35 \nThose who would like to help are asked to either\, select and remove a star from the front foyer\, or\, complete the form below and send it in with your child so that s/he can select a star and bring it home. Once you have selected a star\, please purchase the item listed on the star\, wrap the gift\, securely tape the star (item side up) on the top of the package and return it to the school by Wednesday\, December 13th. \nFor those of you who would like to take part\, but would prefer to provide a monetary contribution\, we will have purple stars available that simply say “Supporting Star”. If you wish to take one of these stars\, return the star with whatever amount you would like to contribute and we will use the money to buy and wrap a gift for you. We will match up monetary values with stars that still need to be purchased. All monetary contributions will need to be turned in by Monday\, December 4th in order to give us enough time to shop and wrap the gifts. \nPlease be extra careful not to misplace the stars since each star is for a specifically requested item. Return any star that you are unable to buy a gift for to your child’s teacher or office staff so that someone else may purchase that item. SUMMARY:Halloween Parade
DESCRIPTION:This year’s Halloween Parade will take begin at 9:45 a.m. \nThere will be seating available for parents/guardians in the wood gym\, blue gym and cafeteria to watch their child walk across the stage (wood gym)\, chorus risers (blue gym) and through the cafeteria during the parade. Parents need to remain in the designated seating areas for the duration of the parade. For safety reasons\, we request that parents do not stand in the hallways or follow their child in the parade\, as the hallway space is needed for the students (and staff) and has limited capacity. \nIf you are dropping off your child for school\, and you wish to stay for the parade\, please go directly to one of the designated seating areas listed above and wait for the parade to start. We ask that parents of students in grades 1-5 do not go to the classrooms\, so there is no interruption of instructions. Parents of kindergarten students may go to their child’s classroom to partake in the Kindergarten Halloween celebrations. \nStudents may come to school dressed in their costumes as long as they are not a safety hazard on the bus. \nThe parade will take place entirely inside the building. The kindergarten students will lead our parade to the blue gym first\, then to the cafeteria and through the wood gym. We appreciate your patience in waiting for students to parade through your seating area as we anticipate some travel lulls between grade levels. \nIf you plan on taking your child home after the parade\, please wait for the completion of the entire parade before signing your child out. There will be an announcement indicating the completion of the parade. At that time\, parents may sign their child out at his/her classroom. Students will not be dismissed until the parade is completely over. \nParents who are taking their child home must exit the school grounds (including the parking lot) by 11 a.m so that we may dismiss students safely to the busses. \nWe ask that parents do not wear costumes so that we are able to identify all adult visitors in the building. \nAs always masks\, weapons and scary costumes are not allowed in school
