Parent University Session – Fractions
March 15, 2018 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Fractions: This session will focus on the development of fractions from grades k to 5. Particpants will learn methods to compare fractions, find equivalent fractions, add, subtract, multiply and divide fractions. These methods focus on the underlying understanding of the mathematics rather than tricks that students may forget. Understand fractions better than you ever have before!
Facilitated by Christal Justiana- Riddle; Math Specialist and Jenn Golias; Teacher on Special Assignment for Professional Development.
Does your child’s math homework look like a foreign language? Do you often wonder why your child is learning math in a different way than you did? Are you interested in learning the math strategies your child is learning at school so you can help your child at home? If you answered yes to any of these questions, please join us for our Parent University series. You may choose to attend all the sessions in the series or pick individual sessions. Childcare will be provided by Niagara-Wheatfield High School Students and refreshments will be provided. All sessions will last from 6 to 7:30 pm.
