Funding Requests

  • Mum sale – $3885 profits
  • Memberships – $225 in Membership dues – down from last year. Please encourage other parents to join! No time commitment, just pay the membership dues!
  • Taxes filed for 2020-2021
    • $50 to State
    • $800 to accountant for preparation.

New Business

Update from Nora O’Bryan – Principal: COVID, Fun Room and PBIS

  • PBIS Push on Social / Emotional Learning.
    • Added part time social worker – resource to kids and families.
    • Counselors are teaching character education lessons.
      • Anger Management.
      • Conflict Resolution.
      • Controlling Emotions.
    • PBIS will be running special activities once a month
      • This month – Reading Challenge to go with Scholastic Book fair – look in folders for the details!
    • In place of Monthly Virtual Assemblies, we will now have extended Monday Morning announcements
      • Fabulous Falcon – Each Grade and Special nominates a student as the fabulous falcon. Will be announced on the Monday Morning Announcements.
    • Fun Room is now reopened
      • Golden Ticket Parties
      • Sensory Issues.
      • Teachers can sign out once a week for recess as well.

COVID Updates:

County Department of Health is the one that quarantines / contact traces. School does not decide.

  • Exposure is considered anyone exposed at under 6’ for 15 minutes or more.
  • If there’s a case in the classroom, note will go home to the whole class.
  • If your child is considered exposed – you would be contacted for further information.
  • District emails come out every afternoon with number of cases.
  • Currently, lunch is really the only main exposure point – Students are sitting 3’ apart and unmasked. School uses seating charts to know who’s sitting where for tracing purposes.

Halloween

Parade on 10.29 – Unfortunately cannot have all the parents in the building so parade will be recorded and posted on the child’s google classroom.

Picture Day Retakes

  • If you are unhappy with your child’s picture, retakes will occur on 11.18.
  • Bring old photos to exchange. Cannot keep old photos and get new.

Spirit Wear

  • ~70 Orders
  • Final orders due 10/15 – FINAL CALL
  • Orders will be produced and should be available in November.

Scholastic Book Fair – Oct 18-20

  • No Fall Social / Halloween Party – Goodie Bags to be distributed to kids instead.
  • Scholastic book fair brings in scholastic dollars for Magazines and classroom books.
  • Scholastic E-wallet – to put money on kid’s account. Unused balances can be used on future scholastic orders. Cash can also be sent in with students.

Poinsettia / Wreath Sale

  • Sale will run from 11.1 – 11.10
  • Due to availability issues, no late orders will be accepted.
  • Volunteers will be needed for pickup on 12.1 [During the day]
  • Pricing will be confirmed shortly, and flyers will be sent home.

Upcoming Volunteer Needs

  • Looking for a parent to update the monthly Volunteer / Reminder forms and submit to the school for distribution. [Home / Evening Commitment]

Lifetouch Fundraiser

We will be sending out a Shutterfly URL Code to receive 8% back through anything purchased through Shutterfly.com. Includes Christmas Cards, Custom Items and more. Does not need to be used with the school pictures (although it can be). Anyone can use it! Family, Friends. Be on the lookout!
