Treasurer Report
Summary
- Paid out flowers to Fago Family
- Purchase of Tents for outdoor classes
- Teacher Bags
- Cut a lot of funding that we knew we couldn’t use and allowed teachers to make new requests due to COVID. Funds from last year or cancelled events re-purposed as needed.
2019/2020 Recap
ERRICK ROAD FUN ROOM
- Lego Wall, sports fun, interactive gaming (Yoga/Exercise), Reading, Arts and Crafts, Karaoke.
Room cannot be used this year. Hopefully re-opened soon. Earned with Falcon Cash in 2019-2020 - New water fountain was approved. This was installed in the 5th grade wing. It can fill water bottles.
- Purchased outdoor tent. This is being scheduled to classes to have academic time outside. Reading books, etc.
MARCH-COVID-19 CLOSED SCHOOLS
- Cancelled most of events that had been planned. All events cancelled through January. Will re-evaluate events after that.
- Teacher/staff gift bags distributed on 1st day of school – a PTO welcome back. Goodies and snacks, sharpies waters to get them through the first week.
NEW NORMAL
- No parents are allowed in the building. No decoration of bulletin board. No fundraisers. No socials. We will re-evaluate in January if guidance has changed.
- All students will be reporting daily after 9/23 online or in person.
- District will be providing 2 cloth masks. Most teachers distributed one and kept one in case something happens.
- PTO purchased magnetic safety pins to hang masks on during mask breaks.
- Virtual students should have all received Chromebooks
- Hand sanitizing stations throughout hallways. Travel sanitizers recommended.
- New normal is going fairly well per feedback from students/parents.
- A complimentary breakfast and lunch meal will be available for pick-up for students in the Virtual Program, or those who are learning remotely on their hybrid, at-home day
Upcoming Events
9/24 Virtual Open House 5pm-6pm
- Links distributed out. Will be done through the Google Classroom / Zoom.
- School is setting up school wide Remind account.
- Some grades are doing a pre-recorded virtual tour of the classroom. During open house there are time slots to sign up to meet and greet.
- Some grades will be live streaming with sign ups for multiple sessions
- Specials will be included.
9/30 Picture Day
- Papers will be coming home. Emails are coming through Lifetouch.
- No volunteers (all will be run by Lifetouch)
- All safety procedures and guidelines will be followed. Cleaning between photos
- Photographer and 1 helper from Lifetouch
- Coordinating virtual student photographs – they will not be excluded! More to come on this.
Yearbooks
Lifetouch is the provider of all yearbooks. In the past we have never had an issue, this is a unique and unprecedented situation. Our yearbooks were printed, but the inside of book was incorrect. They are reprinting. But due to staffing shortages and COVID issues this is taking much longer than anticipated.
Virtual Scholastic Book Fair in October – Possible? We are evaluating now.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
- Amazon Smile
- Go to SMILE.AMAZON.COM
- Search and select Booster for Errick Needs Ins
- Every order you place at AMAZON donates money to Errick Road!
Can you reach out to 5 friends to invite other parents to the PTO or Facebook Group. We need more parental involvement. The PTO is a great source of information regarding things going on at the school.
BOX TOPS
- Not collecting physical box tops.
- Box Tops will be accepted through mobile app.
PROCEDURAL
DROP OFF LANE
Starting 9/17/20 – Moved temperature scanner to E-Wing. Kids will be scanned upon entering the building vs at the car. Should speed up drop off. If they’re sick, you’ll be called to come back.
SICK DAY
Information will come out from the superintendent in the next couple days regarding actions to take if/when you are calling in sick.
IN THE EVENT OF A POSITIVE CASE
Department of Health takes over and they decide on what gets communicated to which families.
Questions / Updates
VIRTUAL/IN PERSON SWITCH
Survey will be sent at 5-week mark regarding virtual or in-person schooling.
DISMISSAL
Come at assigned time. Will not release early.
Next week names will be put on computer screens in each classroom so teachers can see.
Fill out note regarding authorized pickups.
School is still adjusting and trying to iron out procedures. Patience is appreciated.
ARRIVAL
Parents cannot get out of cars. It slows everything down.
Recommendation to drive up Errick Road and turn right into the parking lot from Niagara Falls Blvd. Turning left from Steig Rd. tends to cause grid lock.
DEVICES
Any devices used in school should stay in school.
FREE LUNCH AND BREAKFAST
All kids in district are offered free lunch and breakfast. Bring your own and get a lunch if you want.
If interested in the breakfast offered, email teacher to send your student down to cafeteria. Student will go to classroom, drop off backpack, then tell the teacher they’re getting breakfast back to class room. Between 9-930
